Our Western Civilization generally understands language as a tool for describing reality. This is an idea I want to challenge, based on the groundbreaking findings of some of our teachers/mentors, the Chileans Francisco Varela (see bio ), Humberto Maturana (see bio ) and Fernando Flores (see bio ) on how to understand the mind, its relationship to the human brain and the role of language in what makes up our reality.

The basic statement: language and reality are the result of social interaction in humans, not the result of a working human brain.

And since we firmly believe that language is a tool for creating reality, we also believe that the telecommunications revolution that we are participating in, is actually a drastic and unique moment in human evolution. We socially interact like never before. This is a discontinuity for our species. This moment in history is a tsunami that democratizes the capacity for creating new worlds.

Based on this understanding and know-how, in the last 20 years we have created several social movements and companies…

- A nonprofit foundation, Fundación Mercator (link ) that has trained over 60 000 young people, how to make their dreams come true. 

- A social activism movement AtinaChile (link ) of over 50 000 people.

- A Web 2.0 startup with a social Network, www.bligoo.com (link ) of collaborative communities with 160 000 participants

We are a consulting company called Gulliver, in honor of the title character of "Gulliver's travels" who faced the challenge of having to re-learn how to cope with a new reality each time he stepped off his ship. Everything he had learned about dealing with Lilliputians was rendered useless when he came face to face with giants. Our company's thesis is that the pace of change in our personal lives and our work have transformed each of us into Gulliver and that tapping into Collective Intelligence is the only way we can avoid becoming obsolete; as people, companies or industries.

We founded Gestión & Liderazgo (Management & Leadership) in 1997 as a business consulting company based in Santiago, Chile, focused in helping people and companies to cope with change in different forms:

1.    Expanding people's entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship capabilities

2.    Making "Customer Care" an effective and embodied term

3.    Moving companies from strategies to effective action

4.    Leading change management teams

We founded Blue Company in 2002 in Chile as a consulting firm, with the goal of impacting the world by creating Internet technologies that connect people and ideas while encouraging conversations. In early 2006, Blue began developing an Internet platform it called Bligoo that leveraged the software tools it had already developed for its clients. The philosophy behind the creation of Bligoo as a communication and interaction platform stems from the founders philosophy rooted in the belief that there is power in the collective consciousness, or the shared beliefs and ideas of a community.

Our latest endevor Insumo China was created to transform the "another good somebody brought from china" experience into a proactive, collaborative and committed level. Our goal is to put customers to work together to reach inland China and create their own trade.

I learned a little about Architecture while studying in Universidad de Chile from 85 to 91.

I've learned all I know about art and painting by hanging around my good friend and great painter Alejandro Balbontin for the last 20 years.

I've learned about tacos, education and business process while working for a business consulting firm in Mexico for the Tecnológico de Monterrey from 95 to 99.

I've learned and came to love Social activism and teaching entrepreneurship while working in Mercator Foundation in different roles for the last 15 years.

Over the years, in my various endeavors, we have trained thousands of people in Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Panama and Honduras to improve their entrepreneurial skills, to assist them in acquiring skills that help them help themselves.

I've learned everything I know about entrepreneurship building our four companies during the last 8 years.
